Pedicures, computer crashes and more...

oh my!

When so much can go wrong so quickly there is always a pedicure around the corner to make things better... however not everyone can appreciate the pedicures I've been getting lately.. they are the best.. and they are free!! What could be better, right? To be honest, I'm very selfish with my peidicure person... it's Maddie.. there is nothing better in the world during my time in her "spa".

She gets right down to the job.. face first in some instances... and does such a lovely job making sure not only my toenail is covered but the entire toe also matches in whatever color she chooses for me! I wear my flipflops proudly when Maddie shares her artistic skills on my toes.. as any self-respecting YaYa should...

On to computer crashes... the second computer crash in a few months. The first crash is beyond repair. Luckily I was given a used computer just 2 weeks before the major meltdown... Lucky for me.. not so lucky for Maddie and Sierra, better known as Rah-Rah. I had given them the freebie but quickly decided it needed to be brought up to the main desk when Matt said he didn't think he could repair mine. I'm still hoping he can rebuild, but it's slow going. As of now, I'm in the process of choosing just the tower. I have no need for speakers, keyboard, monitor.. just a tower.. what to choose, what to choose.. as if I know what to even think of getting! I'm in the middle of a nightmare.. do I need this mgh or that gig? Do I need to trays for dvd/cd burning or just one? I'm of the mind 2 is better than one because it's what I had.. of course, I realize now I do not need tv capability since I didn't even use it on my old computer, nor do I need a remote.. again, not even unpacking it.. what a waste of money!

On to "and more" ... I have houseguests. I love it when my friend Carol and her family come for a visit... they are such an important part of my family.. "friend" is such an understatement.. Carol is family.. even though not a drop of blood from my relatives flows through her veins nor mine her's.. we're "sisters" and always will be! This trip she brought Check Colas from Winn Dixie. My family has always loved Check Drinks.. next trip I think I'll have her bring Cherry Colas.. Christopher especially loves them! Carol also brought oranges and grapefruit from her trees.. they may not look like the ones in stores but they sure taste better... now I need to buy a juicer so I can savor the flavor long after she's gone to camp.. yes, Camp.. Carol works at a camp during the summer... isn't that great? I know I'd feel better knowing she was around to take care of my child...

Happiness is...

definately being a YaYa... which some of you might know is what my Grandkids call me.. I love being a YaYa.. especially when all 3 of the g-b's are here... it's wonderful.. loud, loving and wonderful. This weekend Courtney, Spencer and Zeke spent some time with us. Spencer's brother was getting married and I got to enjoy Zeke while they were at the rehearsal dinner. Sophia wasn't sure if she liked Zeke when he first started visiting. She definately doesn't like sharing with him as you'll see in photos throughout this blog as I post them.. however, she was being gracious and thought it might be time to teach him to crawl .. such cuteness you've never seen before!!!

He didn't get the crawling but he did scoot after her a little while later.. this he learned all on his own without the help of Sophia.. genius..my g-b's are pure genius!!

Lifes little blessings...

So today has been a great day.. I have had the company of my kids .. sort of.. and the company of my grandkids.. It was so cute to see Sophia playing with Zeke. Maddie being the oldest went off to Paw-Paw's room for some tv time.. nothing like a little Dora to calm the nerves.. Sophia meanwhile decided Zeke should not be in HER highchair and proceeded to try to climb up the thing! Zeke being Zeke just looked at her as if she were crazy.. Once Sophia realized Zeke was not giving up the chair she moved on to other things.. things she thought would torture him no doubt... again, that didn't work ... so, she decided she needed to be nice to him.. you know the old saying.. you catch more bees with honey than vinegar... By this time Zeke was in the floor having had his supper and was ready for some "scooting time"... Sophia thought this was great fun and proceeded to drop to all 4 and crawl towards the living room.. when she stopped to check Zeke's progress she noticed he had not followed.. so, back she goes... again turning to crawl away thinking Zeke was following.. This went on for a few minutes all the while Zeke trying to scoot but not getting very far... he is afterall just learning... Sophia finally gave up and started walking.. it was one of the cutest things I've ever seen.. and yes, I did video it...

So... this is Blogging...

I'm new to this bloggin' world.. but, I figure I can learn.. maybe, hopefully.

Who knew being anything other than wife, mother and mother-in-law could be so great!! I thought being a combo of all of those was an adventure... little did I know what becoming a YaYa would bring.. and so, the story begins...

I was given the most wonderful gift December 31, 2005 when my first Granddaughter, Maddie was born... little did I know that being a "YaYa" would become one of the most important things in my life... On April 14, 2008 Sophia was born.. she came a little early and not nearly "cooked" enough.. little blue thing... so precious.. Next came Zeke, born August 8, 2008. Such a handsome little man.. the "little" part didn't last long.. he's a big boy that makes me smile just by looking at him. I thank God every day for these tiny blessings... they make me understand what life is for... I also thank my kids for giving me these blessings.. being a Mom has always been my number 1 job.. now being a YaYa is right up there with it.. such joy.
